Genetic Nucleus Breeding Center Operation

  • SyAqua has been engaged in the importation of shrimp for over 15 years with the aim of cultivating domestic genetic strains. The focus lies on creating genetic variations that align with the environmental conditions prevalent in Southeast Asia.
  • Given the extensive genetic diversity, there exists an opportunity for a more discerning approach to control the level of inbreeding. Through the application of precise breeding evaluation techniques such as BLUP and Genomics, SyAqua ensures a heightened accuracy in the selection of shrimp, facilitating the collection of precise data for the rapid advancement of genetic progress.
  • Having dedicated more than a decade to shrimp breeding, SyAqua has amassed a substantial database, instrumental for analysis aimed at enhancing the characteristics of the succeeding generations.
  • A paramount emphasis is placed on the development of a BALANCED LINE, characterized by a commendable growth rate, resistance to diseases, and adept adaptation to a broad spectrum of salinity levels.

Broodstock Multiplication Center (BMC)

  • Genetic Selection: Identifying and selecting shrimp with desirable traits such as rapid growth, disease resistance, adaptability to environmental conditions, and other economically important traits.
  • Breeding Program Management: Implementing controlled breeding programs to ensure the transmission of favorable genetic traits to the next generation of shrimp.
  • Disease Control: Implementing biosecurity measures to prevent and control diseases among the shrimp broodstock, as healthy parents contribute to the health of the offspring.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of the genetic background, performance, and breeding history of the shrimp broodstock to facilitate informed decision-making in the breeding program.

The establishment of a Shrimp Broodstock Multiplication Center is crucial for the sustainability and success of shrimp aquaculture, as it helps ensure the availability of superior genetic lines that contribute to increased production efficiency, disease resistance, and overall profitability in the shrimp farming industry.

Hatchery Operations

  • Hatchery Operations: Managing the hatchery processes, including spawning, larval rearing, and juvenile production, to ensure the production of healthy and high-quality shrimp offspring.
  • Supply Chain Integration: Collaborating with shrimp farming operations and hatcheries to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of genetically improved shrimp for commercial production.
