Job Responsibilities:
1. Experiment and Trial Support
· Assist in the setup, monitoring, and operation of experiments, trials, and research studies.
· Prepare materials, equipment, and reagents as required by study protocols.
2. Sample Collection and Processing
· Conduct sampling (e.g., water, feed, tissue) and prepare specimens for analysis.
· Perform basic laboratory analyses (e.g., measurements, observations, routine assays).
· Label, store, and manage samples to maintain traceability and integrity.
3. Data Recording and Reporting
· Maintain precise records of procedures, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks and
databases.
· Assist in compiling and summarizing data for reports and presentations.
4. Equipment Operation and Maintenance
· Operate laboratory and field equipment safely and effectively.
· Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
· Assist in the procurement of materials, consumables, and equipment necessary for research
activities.
5. Compliance and Safety
· Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and protocols.
· Follow biosecurity measures and quality assurance procedures.
6. Collaboration and Communication
· Coordinate daily activities with research team members. Provide feedback to improve protocols
and workflows.
· Participate in meetings to discuss progress and address challenges.
Academic/Professional Qualifications:
1. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Aquaculture, Marine Science, or a related field.
2. Knowledge of aquatic animal husbandry or shrimp farming is an advantage.
3. Basic laboratory techniques and familiarity with standard equipment.
Relevant Experience:
1. Prior experience in laboratory, field research, or aquaculture production preferred.
2. Data entry and use of spreadsheets or laboratory information systems such as Microsoft Word,
Excel, PowerPoint.
